Waste Batteries Being Recycled into White Canes
Waste collection project to donate white canes to more than one thousand visually impaired individuals.
Used batteries were collected throughout the year as part of a recycling initiative. The project planned to donate one white cane for a specific quantity of batteries collected. Exceeding the target of 3,000 tonnes of batteries, 4,000 used batteries were gathered. More than one thousand visually impaired individuals will receive white cane donations. The battery manufacturer company supported visually impaired individuals through the project it launched.
Within the scope of the project created with the logic of a sustainable society and clean environment, batteries collected from major retailers, households and battery packages were transformed into white cane donations for visually impaired individuals. The recycling of these accumulated batteries will be carried out by the Portable Battery Manufacturers and Importers Association (TAP Association).
The world shall not run out of batteries
Additionally, the company designed a seminar on "Sustainability and Batteries" for primary school children. The company team working voluntarily on this project participates in the children's classes, raising awareness about sustainability and the recycling of used batteries. The team explains to the next generation what can be done so that "the world shall not run out of batteries" and raises awareness about clean environment, clean society and sustainable living.Advertisement
