Akfen Continues Its Investments in Renewable Energy

Akfen Continues Renewable Energy Investments Akfen Renewable Energy, which has an installed capacity of approximately 700 MW producing energy from domestic and renewable sources such as solar, hydro and wind, plans to add 64 MW of hybrid solar energy capacity to 4 wind power plants through investments to be implemented in the second half of 2023, while also planning to increase the capacity of 5 wind power plants by 92.4 MW. Akfen Renewable Energy made a statement regarding the current status of projects that are currently in the investment phase and will be included in its portfolio upon completion of investments. According to this, the company completed all permits and prepared for construction for hybrid solar power plant projects of 40.02 MW at the Üçpınar Wind Power Plant in Çanakkale, 12.68 MW at Hasanoba Wind Power Plant, 4.95 MW at Kocalar Wind Power Plant, and 6.36 MW at the Denizli Wind Power Plant project in Denizli. The company plans to begin investment in the 64.01 MW solar power plant project across these 4 projects in 2023. On the other hand, permit processes continue for the hybrid solar power projects of 12.97 MW at the company's Sarıtepe Wind Power Plant in Osmaniye and 13.26 MW at Demirciler Wind Power Plant, as well as 4.53 MW at the Doğançay Hydroelectric Plant project in Sakarya. In addition to hybrid investments, the company plans to achieve significant growth in its installed capacity through capacity increases. Accordingly, the company applied for a maximum total of 92.4 MW wind capacity increase that can fit within the license area: 25 MW at Denizli Wind Power Plant, 9.6 MW at Üçpınar Wind Power Plant, 25 MW at Kocalar Wind Power Plant, 7.8 MW at Sarıtepe Wind Power Plant and 25 MW at Hasanoba Wind Power Plant project. Currently, capacity increase permits for a total of 67.4 MW have been completed at 4 wind power plant projects (excluding Hasanoba project).
