Agro Termal Expands Its Geothermally Heated Greenhouses
Agro Termal, a leading brand of Yediyol Holding, is preparing to commission its second and third phases following the completion of the first phase of its massive 1-million-square-meter project in Konya Tuzlukçu. The project is generating employment for thousands of people.
Agro Termal, a brand belonging to Yediyol Holding, is expanding its geothermally heated technological greenhouses. Following the first phase of the investment project, which makes a significant contribution to the country's economy regarding the current account deficit due to its production and export intensity, the second and third phases will also become operational.
Yediyol Holding Chairman of the Board Muhammet Şuheyp Mendi made the following comments on the matter: "We will use our third greenhouse for our research and development work. In this greenhouse, the cultivation of different agricultural products in addition to tomatoes will be observed, and we will shape our fourth greenhouse based on the results we obtain. In addition to testing products such as peppers, cucumbers and eggplants, we will also conduct trials on the cultivation of watermelons, melons and tropical fruits. As a result of these trials, we will move to the construction phase of appropriate greenhouses for the cultivation of the relevant vegetables and fruits. I also believe that we will achieve these successes in the near future"
Contribution to female workforce
Agro Termal, which provides employment to thousands of people in the region through the massive project, supports regional development while the vast majority of its workforce consists of women. The project also enables high-quality and healthy products to be obtained with minimal water consumption. The investment project, which makes a significant contribution to the country's economy regarding the current account deficit due to its production and export intensity, is capable of producing 12 months a year regardless of seasonal conditions. The production system ensures continuous and quality product supply to consumers in both domestic and foreign markets while simultaneously developing a qualified workforce.
From unproductive land to productive greenhouse
Through soilless farming methods used in Agro Termal's geothermally heated technological greenhouses, unproductive lands are being transformed into productive greenhouses. Pollination by Bombus bees ensures production without hormones and chemicals. The commencement of construction of the third greenhouse in Konya demonstrates the company's commitment to its growth targets.
