Abdi İbrahim Receives “Green Office Diploma”
Abdi İbrahim successfully completed the Green Office Program of WWF Turkey (Nature Conservation Foundation), which encourages organizations to make nature-friendly choices and reduce their ecological footprint, earning the "Green Office Certificate" for its General Directorate building in Istanbul Maslak.
The Green Office Program, which aims to reduce ecological footprint through office practices, seeks to instill this approach in employees as well, amplifying its multiplier effect and thereby reducing humanity's pressure on natural resources.
Green Office Practices
Following the Green Office Program work carried out under the leadership of WWF-Turkey, Abdi Ibrahim's General Directorate building initially undertook efforts toward water conservation, waste management and increasing individual awareness among office employees. Working for a better world and better future aligned with its sectoral mission and social priorities, Abdi Ibrahim implemented the initiative by establishing a project team of 70 people to raise awareness and consciousness for a more livable environment. Throughout the program, Abdi Ibrahim conducted strong communication work through both training provided to project volunteers and sharing information with all employees to increase their environmental conservation awareness. Taking responsibility for minimizing risks created by climate change, Abdi Ibrahim took important steps in this direction. By switching to water cartridge application in the General Directorate building and initiating controlled use of tap water, the company achieved 71 tonnes per month less water consumption in 2021, and on World Water Day distributed 10,000 water-saving cartridges to pharmacies to raise awareness about water conservation. We are advancing with sure steps toward becoming a carbon-neutral company
Dr. M. Oğuzcan Bülbül, Director of Corporate Relations, Sustainability and Communications at Abdi Ibrahim, stated that they were pleased to have successfully completed WWF-Turkey's Green Office Program and earned the certificate, continuing as follows: "While climate change concerns us as individuals, as an organization we view reducing our negative impact on climate and leaving behind a livable world for future generations as a fundamental and priority responsibility. We find applications like the Green Office Program, which are encouraging and raise awareness across all sectors, very meaningful. Our main environmental target is to become a carbon-neutral company by 2030. In the light of this awareness that will sustain our world for long enough to provide all living beings with the water, air, food and clean environment they need, we develop projects in line with our motto 'Improving the Future.' By completing the Green Office Program, we have taken another step forward on this journey focused on progress and mutual benefit. With the support and sensitivity of our employees, we will continue to rapidly expand the work we are undertaking under our HEAL2030 sustainability strategy, aiming to keep the environmental impacts of our operations under control."Advertisement
