Under the HEAL2030 sustainability strategy, Abdi İbrahim obtained the I-REC certificate, which certifies in accordance with international standards that the electricity used at its Maslak General Headquarters building and Esenyurt Production Complex is generated from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric and geothermal. Abdi İbrahim became the first Turkish pharmaceutical company to obtain this certificate, which is of great importance in leaving a healthy environment and a sustainable world for future generations.
The international I-REC certificate enables tracking of each unit of electricity used from its source and ensures traceability through to the end user. With this certificate, Abdi İbrahim demonstrates in accordance with international standards and in a transparent manner that each box of medicine it produces is manufactured using renewable energy.
Dr. M. Oğuzcan Bülbül, Director of Corporate Communications, Sustainability and Public Relations at Abdi İbrahim: "As Abdi İbrahim, while continuing our economic activities, we always prioritize leaving a positive mark on society and the world in which we live. The awards and certificates we have received are proof of our sensitivity and efforts. Our main environmental target is to become a carbon-neutral company by 2030. We have many projects in progress as we work towards this target.
One of the most important of these is the use of renewable electricity with I-REC certification at our Abdi İbrahim Esenyurt Production Complex and general headquarters building, and having reduced our scope-2 emissions to zero. With the awareness that we must sustain our world for long enough to provide all living beings with the water, air, nutrition and clean environment they need, we are developing projects and will continue to develop projects guided by our motto 'Improving the Future'," he said.
