Abdi İbrahim Achieves New Success in Sustainability Efforts
Abdi İbrahim, placing sustainability initiatives at the center of all business processes to leave a more livable world for future generations, has achieved another significant international success through the steps it has taken and practices it has implemented.
Abdi İbrahim earned a place on the B- list in the Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical sector in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change Program with performance above global average. The CDP, recognized as the world's most powerful green civil society organization, operates in the fields of climate change mitigation and natural resource protection.
Abdi İbrahim, which attaches great importance to sustainability and energy efficiency and is working to reduce its carbon footprint to zero by 2030, has achieved a significant international success through these efforts.
Through its first reporting under the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change and Water Security Programs, Abdi İbrahim ranked above the global average in the Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical sector in the Climate Change Program and earned a place on the B- list.
In doing so, it achieved an important success in the Carbon Disclosure Project, the world's largest environmental reporting platform featuring approximately 10,000 companies from around the globe.
Evaluating Abdi İbrahim's success in making the B- list in the Carbon Disclosure Project, Dr. M. Oğuzcan Bülbül, Director of Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Abdi İbrahim, stated: "As Abdi İbrahim, we work every day to contribute to millions of people living better, healthier and happier lives.
While conducting our commercial activities and implementing our investments, we always prioritize leaving a "good" mark on society and the world we live in, and we plan all our actions with an environmental focus. Although this is our first reporting under the CDP, we are very proud to have made the B- list in both the Climate Change and Water Security Programs. We are also pleased that we achieved a score above the global and European average of our sector in the field of climate change. As a company applying and scoring for the first time, we surpassed 85 of the 129 applicants in Turkey, many of whom have been doing this for more than 5-10 years. This important development has shown that Abdi İbrahim is on the right track in its sustainability efforts. We have areas for improvement in both categories. Our ultimate goal is to make the list of companies rated 'A'. I am confident that with the decisive steps we will take, we will achieve this as well," he said."We will continue working for a better world and a better future"
Noting that these successes will make a significant contribution to Abdi İbrahim's stance in the field of sustainability, Bülbül said: "In the 2020 study of the Global Risk Report published annually by the World Economic Forum, for the first time, the top five global risks expected over the next 10 years consisted of environmental risks. At a time when environmental risks are increasing their impact with each passing day, important responsibilities fall on everyone, especially public and private organizations. Companies that take responsibility for their ecosystem, the society they live in and the environment, and take strong steps for a better future will be representatives of transformation in the future. As Abdi İbrahim, we have been working with a mission of improvement for three generations; improvement is in our DNA. Every day we contribute to millions of people living better and happier lives. This year, we took our mission of 'improving life' to a slightly different point by saying 'we are improving the future' and shaped our sustainability strategy around this discourse. As Turkey's improvement force, in the period ahead, we will continue to work for a better world and a better future with our identity as a corporate citizen, our sectoral mission, our social priorities, and our universal principles and sensitivities."Advertisement
