Schneider Electric Launches IoT Revolution

Schneider Electric enhances smart asset optimization and maintenance processes with IoT sensors and measurement technologies, delivering efficiency, safety and reliability. Schneider Electric emphasizes that measurement sensors and IoT (Internet of Things) monitoring technologies used in production and assembly lines play a critical role in companies' circular economy initiatives. IoT-based manufacturing approaches help reduce energy consumption and increase the lifecycle and efficiency of machinery and other production assets.

Schneider Electric Turkey, Central Asia and Pakistan Region Services Deputy General Manager Mahmut Dede stated that they provide solutions for intelligent and sustainable manufacturing at global scale, continuing as follows;

'In this direction, one of our top priorities is to actively help our customers and suppliers manage energy better and reduce their CO2 footprint by 800 million tonnes by 2025. A significant portion of our decarbonization efforts consists of developing next-generation technologies and solutions that enable circular models in manufacturing. In this context, we offer a smart asset optimization program by integrating IoT sensors into operational models for predictive performance management. This program transforms performance and condition data collected by IoT sensors and analyzed by management systems into real-time insights, allowing for improved accuracy and effectiveness of condition-based maintenance and modernization plans. Thus, we support organizations in the global energy crisis we face by reducing average energy costs in production lines by 20-25 percent, while also serving the world's sustainability. Schneider Electric solutions make production equipment more efficient in line with circular principles. Companies can share equipment within their organization through a database, use it across different facilities and benefit from data-driven optimization. IoT offers a significant advantage in managing microgrids and balancing electrical loads, while digitally simulated power systems and process electrification present additional efficiency and circular potential. Industry 4.0 era in manufacturing

The role IoT plays in manufacturers' operations in terms of leveraging insights becomes increasingly important for companies to reach their sustainability targets. Artificial intelligence use with online sensors and advanced analytics systems enables them to predict future failures and move to the '4.0' phase. Nestlé, one of the world's leading food and beverage producers implementing Schneider Electric's solutions at its facilities, made significant progress in this regard. The brand reduced energy consumption in production by 5 percent and aims to build this system in 120 facilities worldwide, thereby having 80 percent of all facilities use advanced condition monitoring technologies to reduce maintenance costs by 5 percent and increase equipment performance by 5-7 percent. The correlation analysis provided in this context will bring together insights on material usage measurements and the machine's energy efficiency and other parameters in the production facility, enabling the brand to perform big data analysis to optimize production line configurations at an integrated level.
