TUSAŞ Invests in Composite Materials
Opening and Presentation Ceremony for National Technologies and New Investments held, with inauguration of National Fighter Aircraft Engineering Center, Composite Manufacturing Facility, Space Systems Engineering Building, Depot-Level Maintenance and Repair Center, and facilities completed in the Ankara Space and Aviation Specialization Organized Industrial Zone (HAB) established alongside TUSAŞ.
President Erdoğan stated in his opening remarks that preparations to ensure domestic and national production of subsystems, components and materials for the national fighter aircraft, which will make its first flight in 2025, have not been neglected. Announcing the opening of the composite manufacturing facility, where composite materials—critical for the aviation sector—will be produced and approximately one thousand personnel will be employed, Erdoğan said:
"This center, Turkey's largest and the world's fourth-largest composite facility under one roof, has the capacity to supply 2 percent of the global aircraft structures composite market. We are also inaugurating today our maintenance and repair center where aircraft components will be serviced, repaired and overhauled.
With more than 500 engineers serving in this facility, it will address an important sector need. The engineers who will work in the facilities we are inaugurating today are in a sense proof of our major investment in aviation and space for our future," he stated.

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) General Director Temel Kotil stated in his opening remarks that TUSAŞ continues its work on three fixed-wing aircraft—MMU, HÜRJET and HÜRKUŞ—and announced that they will deliver six additional HÜRKUŞ aircraft to Air Force Command in the near future. Kotil said, "The Composite Manufacturing Building, with a cost of TRY 412 million, is Turkey's largest composite facility and the world's fourth-largest composite facility under one roof. The Composite Manufacturing Building comprises 19 blocks including main production, paint shop building and auxiliary buildings. The Composite Manufacturing Building has the capacity to supply 2 percent of the global aircraft structures composite market and will employ 150 engineers and 850 technicians." SourceAdvertisement
