Turkey's Major Composite Facility Producing in Ankara

Turkey's largest and the world's fourth-largest composite facility under one roof, established by TUSAŞ. Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ), equipped with state-of-the-art technology, has begun production at its composite facility in Ankara, which will manufacture components for Turkey's indigenous aviation projects and global aerospace leaders. TUSAŞ completed its new composite investment at its headquarters in Kahramankazan with an investment of USD 181 million and approximately 100,000 square meters of enclosed space. The facility, where structural components of aircraft and helicopters will be manufactured, will meet 2 percent of global aerospace structural composite requirements. Stating that the procurement process for some advanced technology equipment in the building has been completed and their installation is ongoing, Eriş noted that they have reached 70-80 percent progress in this regard.

Orders from companies such as Boeing and Airbus are already in place

Eriş said, "This building was conceived as a facility that would increase our current composite production capacity by approximately 2-2.5 times. There are already orders from companies such as Boeing and Airbus that we have received, and these will be produced in this facility. A certain portion of the structural components of our indigenous products will also be manufactured in this facility. These are matters concerning our company and our country's future. When thinking long-term, thermoplastics are the particularly in-demand topic regarding composites' future. In this regard, we will have serious R&D investment and facilities in our plant."   Source: AA
