Three Academics from Siirt University Achieve Major Success

Three academics from Siirt University (SİÜ) have been included in a list of the world's most accomplished scientists. According to a statement from Siirt University, the list was compiled by Stanford University scientist Prof. Dr. John P. A. Ioannidis and his team and published in PLOS Biology journal. The ranking identifies the top 2 percent of 7 million academics worldwide across different sub-disciplines, comprising 160,000 individuals. The research evaluated criteria such as scientific publications, citation rates, author order and number of authors using a composite indicator of scientific impact index. Prof. Dr. Cafer Saka, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at SİÜ; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Akgül, Head of the Mathematics Department at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Kaya, faculty member of the Computer Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, were listed among those selected. A total of 614 academics from Turkey were included in the list.
