Robert Bosch Venture Capital Invests in Arris Composites

Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH (RBVC), the venture arm of the Bosch group, participated in a USD 48.5 million Series B investment round in Arris Composites, a Berkeley, California-based start-up. RBVC invested alongside Taiwania Capital, Valo Ventures and returning investor New Enterprise Associates (NEA). Arris's flagship technology, Additive Molding, is a high-speed manufacturing process that enables the world's leading brands to precisely align continuous carbon fibers and embed electronic components and multifunctional materials into a single topologically optimized part or component. The result is a cost-effective method for producing lighter, stronger and smarter products at scale. Dr. Ingo Ramesohl, General Manager of RBVC, said: "Arris is the first company with the capability to mass produce complex high-performance composites. This is a significant advancement for manufacturing. Arris's scalable production and high-performance materials are opening up new design possibilities for future products across industries. Essentially, Arris is offering designers a plastic composite material with high functional integration capability in place of metal."
