Porcher Industries Launches Mass Mask Production
Porcher Industries (Eclose-Badinières, France), a specialist in thermoplastic composites and technical textiles, has mobilized part of its factory capacity for serial production of reusable masks approved by DGA UNS-1. Porcher announced that production capacity, which began in early April, has reached 1 million masks per week. The masks feature a new hydrophobic filter material with UNS-1 certification from DGA. The masks can be washed at 60°C and are reusable up to 10 times if usage conditions are observed. Porcher also notes that they dry quickly and do not lose their shape.
Designed for non-medical purposes to prevent droplet projection, they can be used by professionals in contact with the public, such as police and payment personnel. According to the DGA protocol results for Porcher Industries filter material designed for protective mask production, AFNOR Spec. S76-001: 2020 for non-medical purposes UNS-1 achieves filtration values of 97% for 3 microns and 93% for 1 micron.
