Kordsa Achieves Major Innovations in Construction Reinforcement Technologies

Kordsa continues to expand the product range of Kratos, the brand through which it has been offering pioneering and innovative domestic products in the technology sector since 2014. Kordsa held a launch meeting for 4 new products in the Kratos Structural Strengthening field through an online meeting that also hosted speakers who are experts, professionals and academics in the subject. Kordsa's Kratos Macro and Micro synthetic fiber reinforcements, offered in the construction strengthening technology business line, stand out as the first Turkish product in the international fiber reinforcement market exceeding USD 500 million. In 2020, the company added Kratos Rebound Minimizer, a sprayed concrete additive that reduces rebound in tunnel excavation and mining applications, and Kratos Pool Fiber products used in pool lining applications to its product range. With the Kratos brand offering cost advantages, work efficiency and high strength, the company quickly became preferred in many prestigious projects. Working with the vision of "Our passion is strengthening life," Kordsa has most recently added Structural Strengthening products to the Kratos product portfolio, a product of significant importance for our country, on which it has been conducting R&D studies for some time. Structural Strengthening products carry great importance in terms of sustainability. Strengthening with Kratos Structural Strengthening products saves both time and cost compared to demolition and reconstruction; in this respect, it stands out as an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution. Where technical competence exists, the advantage of strengthening applications with carbon fabric compared to steel or reinforced concrete jacketing is that it minimizes loss of usable space. Kordsa held the Kratos Structural Strengthening Digital Launch through an online meeting on 31 May. The meeting began with opening remarks by Kordsa CEO Ali Çalışkan and continued with a presentation by Strategy, Business Development Director and Construction Business Unit Leader Fezal Okur Eskil introducing Kordsa and the Construction Business Unit. Following this, Prof. Dr. Alper İlki from Istanbul Technical University's Department of Civil and Earthquake Engineering provided information on structural strengthening technologies in Turkey and worldwide and why they are important. After Kordsa Global Technology Director Devrim Özaydın's presentation titled Global Technology and Construction Strengthening, which also touched on the technology-driven innovation perspective at Kordsa, Sales and Marketing Manager M. Yasa Kılınç, Technology Manager Uğur Alparslan, Customer Manager Sebla Demir and Project Leader Tuluhan Ergin from Kordsa's Construction Strengthening business unit delivered a presentation containing detailed information on Kratos Structural Strengthening Technology technical specifications, areas of application and market position. Finally, Earthquake Strengthening Association President and Artyol Engineering Board Chairman Sinan Türkkan provided information on Turkey's structural strengthening market and DEGÜDER activities.
