A Mobile Platform with a Ballistic Operation Shield Designed from Composite

University Researchers Design Ballistic Shielded Mobile Operational Platform. The patented design, named "DoğuşOpMobil," will provide advantages for law enforcement, security and defense units. Prof. Dr. Tarık Baykara, Faculty Member at Doğuş University, provided information about DoğuşOpMobil, which is equipped with a shield made from ballistic composite material and operated by remote control: "DoğuşOpMobil has a design that can be used effectively by our law enforcement, security and defense forces against narrow street conflicts, mass uprisings, riots, violent protests, vandalism and hooliganism-type attacks they face and may face in the future."

"A useful mobile operational system for the team"

Prof. Dr. Tarık Baykara noted that DoğuşOpMobil is lighter, more practical, faster and has greater maneuverability compared to previous designs, stating: "With its effective protective design, it features a mobile operational system useful for a team of at least 10-12 people behind it." Baykara continued as follows: "With DoğuşOpMobil, a newly designed vehicle platform or an existing platform that could be made available for loader purposes, utilizing hydraulic systems, features an expandable-collapsible composite-based ballistic shield equipped with light ballistic composite glass that also provides clear visibility. In addition to all this, it presents a complete mobile operational platform with various support equipment and accessories (lighting, smoke and tear gas spray system, pressurized water spray connection, audio system, video recording system and similar). It has a system with four-wheel drive and heavy-duty tires, 360-degree rotation capability, 2-3 speed options and speeds of 10-40 km/h, joystick-controlled and with the driver's cabin equipped with ballistic composite armor."
