Groundbreaking Held for Kimpur's Düzce Production Facility
Kimteks Polyurethane Industry and Trade Inc. (KIMPUR), a chemical company ranked among Turkey's largest 500 industrial firms, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its 65,000-ton-capacity production facility in Düzce.
The groundbreaking ceremony for KIMPUR's production facility in Düzce took place on 24 May 2022. KIMPUR Board Chairman Leon Mizrahi, KIMPUR CEO Cavidan Karaca, Pekintaş CEO Özhan Olcay and Düzce Project Architect Nevzat Sayın attended the ceremony.
Annual Capacity of Investment in Düzce Gümüşova Organized Industrial Zone to Reach Total of 65,000 Tons
KIMPUR continues its sustainable growth through its investments. As part of these investments, KIMPUR held the groundbreaking ceremony on 24 May for its 65,000-ton-capacity production facility in Düzce, where it will utilize solar energy as a renewable and clean energy source in production and develop environmentally friendly solutions. KIMPUR completed the engineering design of the production facility and signed an agreement with PEKİNTAŞ A.Ş. for approximately USD 9 million including VAT. The company also worked with renowned architect Nevzat Sayın on the engineering design of the construction. The annual capacity of the investment in Düzce Gümüşova Organized Industrial Zone will total 65,000 tons, and the investment is targeted to reach 50,000 tons of polyurethane systems as the existing product group, a 5,000-ton recycling facility produced by synthesis from PET waste within the green product range, and an additional 10,000-ton 'EVA granule raw material' production capacity with polyester polyol during the 2022-2024 period.Targets Reduction of Approximately 679 Tons of Carbon Dioxide Emissions Annually
KIMPUR aims to strengthen its competitive position in export and domestic markets by reducing energy costs in production through solar power investment in the facility, which will have a total investment cost of TRY 250 million. Within its sustainability targets, the company is focusing on recycling at the new production facility in Düzce and targets covering approximately 55% of total electricity consumption as well as reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 679 tons annually through this investment. KIMPUR Board Chairman Leon Mizrahi emphasized that with the new 65,000-ton-capacity investment in Düzce, they would increase their production capacity significantly and stated: "We target increasing our current 129,000-ton capacity to 200,000 tons through our investments abroad and in Düzce, and strengthening our position by ranking in the top 10 globally.
