Kimpur Receives 'Environmental Management System' Certificate

Kimpur Obtains Environmental Management System Certification Kimpur, which continues to produce customized solutions for its customers through technology and R&D investments, has obtained the 'TS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certificate'. Kimpur's system, established to continuously improve environmental performance by controlling environmental impacts, was audited by SGS and certified with TS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Kimpur Quality Assurance Coordinator Fatma Taşçı, noting that the audit conducted by accredited certification body SGS experts was successfully completed, stated: "We are pleased that our Environmental Management System, through which we aim to leave a more livable world for future generations and protect the environment, and to reduce waste at source, use technologies that will enable recycling/recovery, and prevent pollution at source, has been certified. As Kimpur, we are also signatories to the Responsible Care Global Charter, and while fulfilling these objectives, we take care to take steps that will contribute to sustainability by showing sensitivity to environmental, human health and technical safety issues and continuously improving our performance in these areas." Taşçı, highlighting that the company has adopted a sustainable business model in all its activities, added: "As signatories to the United Nations Global Principles Charter, known as the UN Global Compact, we commit to its ten principles concerning human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. We will continue to take steps in reducing natural resource use, minimizing emissions causing the climate crisis and reducing our carbon footprint." As part of its sustainability goals, Kimpur is focusing on waste-to-value conversion at its new production facility in Düzce, and with its Solar Power Plant investment, it aims to meet approximately 55 percent of total electricity consumption while reducing approximately 679 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The company, which has installed a solar power plant on its Gebze factory building, will obtain approximately 20 percent of the energy required for production from clean energy.     Kimpur, ranked among Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises, is the region's largest capacity polyurethane systems provider with 129,000 tons of production capacity. It leads the sector by exporting to more than 45 countries. The polyurethane systems produced are used in the footwear, automotive, furniture and insulation-construction, heating-cooling sectors.
