KIMflex® Low-Density and Rigid Furniture Flexible Foam Systems Kimpur (Kimteks Poliüretan), with 38 years of experience in the chemical industry, operates as Turkey's 100 percent domestically-owned polyurethane systems house. Through technology and R&D investments, the company continues to deliver innovations and high-performance, distinctive solutions in the production of shoe systems, rigid foam systems and C.A.S.E systems, as well as flexible foam systems. The flexible foam sector changes annually in line with user demands, and the market size is expanding. As in other sectors, flexible foam has faced challenging market conditions in recent years due to economic difficulties in societies and rising raw material prices. To compete in these tough conditions, the ability to provide low-cost production is of paramount importance. One way to achieve this is to produce low-density molded parts. Kimpur has aimed to solve market issues by designing a new ultra-low-density system that possesses high flow capability and superior surface quality, both critical for this market. Our low-density flexible foam system, developed in our R&D center at Kimpur, offers superior advantages including weight savings, high skin quality, easy filling of complex molds, elasticity and the ability to achieve flexible foam at desired hardness levels. With the KIMflex® system, foams with medium-to-high hardness at 33-37 kg/m³ molded density can be produced. Due to the system's superior flow capability, complex and large molds can be easily filled by this system. For example, when 9,500 grams of product is poured into an aluminum mold measuring 200 cm × 90 cm × 14 cm at a temperature of 50-55°C, the mold fills easily and the foam can be removed from the mold within 6-8 minutes. The final product maintains skin integrity. As the Kimpur R&D team, we conduct our work in our simulation center, obtaining correct analyses and quick results in line with our customers' needs.
