An Important Step Forward Taken for the HÜRJET Project

Another Milestone Reached for the HÜRJET Project Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), which designed and developed Turkey's first jet-powered training aircraft, the HÜRJET, has reached another significant milestone. The aircraft's first fuselage section has been transferred from the production line to the final assembly line. The HÜRJET, scheduled for its first flight on 18 March 2023, will have all components assembled on the final assembly line before ground testing begins. Turkish Aerospace Industries, which has undertaken original projects in the aviation field, completed production of the first fuselage section for the HÜRJET Jet Training Aircraft, a project it initiated with its own resources in 2017, and transferred it to the final assembly line. With the HÜRJET Jet Training Aircraft project comprising approximately 8,000 parts in total, 350 components were assembled for the fuselage section where all electronics management of the aircraft will be carried out. Consisting of aluminum and composite parts, the fuselage section contains the aircraft's mission computer, areas for control of movable surfaces, avionics systems, and electronic components that will direct the aircraft.

Sharing his views on the first fuselage section transferred to the final assembly line as part of the HÜRJET Project, General Director Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil stated: "I am excited about transferring the first component of Turkey's first jet-powered training aircraft, the HÜRJET, to the final assembly line. Our HÜRJET project, equipped with next-generation technologies that will contribute to our country's jet pilot training, will take to the skies on 18 March 2023. In 2023, as our Republic celebrates its first century, our country's vision projects, the HÜRJET and ATAK 2, will make us proud with their first flights. Our National Combat Aircraft will also leave the hangar and bring us double joy. I thank all my colleagues who spared no effort to make this historic moment, which represents an important turning point in aviation, a reality. We are developing projects in all areas of aviation, and I express my gratitude to our state and nation for their unfailing support."
Capable of operating up to 45,000 feet altitude
The single-engine, tandem-cockpit HÜRJET Jet Training Aircraft, for which a decision on series production was made by the Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) on 12 January 2022, has been designed to play a critical role in modern fighter aircraft training with its superior performance characteristics. The HÜRJET, capable of performing roles such as Combat Readiness Transition Training, Air Patrol (Armed and Unarmed), and Aerobatic Display, features a speed of 1.4 mach with +8 to -3g limits. The HÜRJET will be capable of operating up to 45,000 feet altitude and can carry a useful load of approximately 3 tons in its fuselage. With its advanced human-machine interface, digitally controlled flight system, integrated tactical training, and virtual training systems, the HÜRJET will provide a next-generation aircraft flight experience.
