H.B. Fuller to Source Raw Materials from Covestro

H.B. Fuller will secure raw material supplies from Covestro through mass balance methodology, with an attributed share of renewable feedstock. The two companies have signed a corresponding supply agreement. The mass-balanced polyurethane feedstock is ISCC-Plus certified and will be used in H.B. Fuller's reactive hot-melt adhesive, replacing a portion of previously used fossil-based feedstock. The product is used predominantly in the automotive, wood, composite and textile industries. Dr. Thorsten Dreier, Head of the Covestro Coatings and Adhesives Division, said: "We are pleased to supply H.B. Fuller. With a mass-balanced product, H.B. Fuller is our first customer in adhesive applications. With increasing use of such alternative feedstocks, we want to become less dependent on petrochemical raw materials and contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions. Alternative feedstocks are part of a comprehensive programme to work with our partners to drive the transition to a circular economy and ultimately become fully circular ourselves," he said. Both companies stated that they want to help their customers make their production more sustainable and position themselves accordingly.
