Updated Ultimaker Print Core CC Expands Opportunities for Industrial Applications
Ultimaker, a global leader in professional 3D printing, has launched the new Print Core CC for its S-line 3D printers, featuring a wear-resistant hardened steel nozzle for increased printing capacity with high-performance composite materials such as carbon fibers, metals, glass and ceramics.
The print core is available in new 0.4 mm and 0.6 mm sizes, replacing the CC Red 0.6 mm print core. The 0.4 mm version is well-suited for composite applications with detailed features, finer lines and smooth surface quality, while the wider 0.6 mm delivers faster printing.

The hardened steel nozzle and titanium heat break increase the durability of the Print Core CC. In addition to benefiting from this updated design of the 0.6 mm nozzle Print Core CC, users can now print parts requiring higher visual quality and accuracy with the new 0.4 mm Print Core CC, which is key for metal FFF 3D printing.
The Print Core CC provides users with the flexibility to print with more than 60 composite materials in the Ultimaker ecosystem. The nozzles can be easily replaced without tools and the print core is immediately visible in Ultimaker Cura.
Users can then select the correct print settings to ensure maximum operating time for Ultimaker's 3D printers. This open approach to innovation is a cornerstone of Ultimaker's philosophy, as demonstrated in the company's recent platform launch, which aims to integrate hardware add-ons, materials, software and other services more seamlessly.
John Maguire, Technical Manager of Irish Rail's Drawing and Design office: "What impressed us with the new Print Core CC is the quality of the prints even after 1,600 print hours. We use composite materials from DSM and Covestro and achieve the right results on the first try with high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface quality. The reliability and longevity of the print core and the seamless integration of third-party material print profiles available in the ecosystem enable us to print industrial parts quickly and efficiently."
