GEBKİM MTAL Teachers Continue Composite Training
GEBKİM Vakfı and the Composite Manufacturers Association organized the third session of their collaborative composite training programs, focusing on technical textile products. Teachers from GEBKİM Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi visited the rapidly expanding METYX Composites division of Telateks A.Ş., located at their production facility in Istanbul Tuzla.
Training programs on composite materials, raw materials, products and industrial applications continue alongside factory visits and online courses. The third session of training where companies operating in the composites industry shared their knowledge and expertise with GEBKİM MTAL teachers on key raw materials and production processes in the sector was held at METYX. METYX Composites serves the maritime, automotive, transportation, wind energy, construction and architectural applications, infrastructure, sports and entertainment industries, and operates production facilities in two locations in Turkey as well as in Hungary and the United States.
GEBKİM MTAL Director Hakan Çelik and GEBKİM MTAL teachers received information from company representatives on composite materials, glass fiber and carbon fiber as well as technical textile products with widespread industrial applications. They also had the opportunity to become closely familiar with composites that enable groundbreaking applications in sectors such as automotive, aviation, defense and energy today.
GEBKİM MTAL's previously conducted training sessions at Turkuaz Polyester, Ece Boya and Şişecam focused on binder materials (resins), one of the two main raw materials of composite materials, and glass fiber, the largest group of reinforcement raw materials. The training programs, which aim to achieve close cooperation between vocational education and industry, are planned to continue in the coming days through factory visits and online courses.
