Ekomaxi has set a precedent with technology transfer from South Korea. As a leading brand in water storage, Ekomaxi can now produce "Modular GRP water storage systems" that preserve water quality without degradation, with nearly 100% domestic content through this technology transfer. With this new technology transfer, Ekomaxi has completed an investment of approximately 10 billion dollars in a "Composite – GRP Panel production line" at its production facility in Malatya. Ekomaxi Board Chairman Osman Yağız made a statement on the matter. In his remarks, Yağız conveyed that with this investment, they aim to become a global production hub.

Reached Leading Position in Europe and Middle East with New Technology Transfer

Ekomaxi Board Chairman Osman Yağız stated: "As Ekomaxi, to bring 'Modular GRP Water Storage Systems' to our country, we have successfully conducted know-how transfer from South Korea, which sets standards in composite panel technology globally, and have achieved transition to 100% domestic production. Within this scope, at our facility in Malatya with 30,000 square meters of production area, we have implemented the 'Composite - GRP Panel production line' with an investment of 10 million dollars," he said. In his statement, Yağız emphasized that with a robust machinery park equipped with necessary automation software such as SMC - Composite raw material production line, hydraulic press machines, insulated water tank panel production and robotic drilling - packaging stations, their facilities have reached a leading position in SMC - Composite Panel production in Europe and the Middle East.
"We Aim to Become a Global Locomotive Production Hub"
Noting that producing GRP Water Tanks with 100% domestic technology provides significant savings from rising raw material and transportation costs, Yağız said: "This allows us to offer our business partners competitive prices along with much shorter delivery times. We are also pleased to be producing this technology domestically, which we previously imported, and thus contributing to the reduction of our foreign trade deficit. Going forward, we aim to increase our exports and establish ourselves as a global locomotive production hub by raising Turkey's profile in GRP Modular Water Storage systems worldwide," he said.
An Investment in Human Health
Stating that GRP Modular Water Storage systems are also an investment in human health, Osman Yağız said: "Plastic and reinforced concrete water tanks, which are widely used in our country, pose a threat to human health. In these systems, which are affected by external environmental conditions in extreme heat and extreme cold, the chemical composition of stored water can deteriorate and water temperature can change. Plastic and reinforced concrete water tanks, which lack resistance to UV rays and are affected by sunlight damage and ambient moisture, can develop rust, algae and bacteria over time. Bacteria that alter water chemistry can cause diseases such as cholera and typhoid that could threaten human health."
No Change or Degradation in the Drinking Quality of Stored Water
Continuing his statement, Yağız said: "With the GRP water tank technology for which we have completed production investment, we play an important role in preserving the quality of stored water. The GRP Water Tank technology, which is very common in the Middle East and Europe but still new to our country, is produced using SMC or Glass Fiber Reinforced Composite material, known as the engineering material of the future. GRP water tanks, which have very high strength and insulation coefficients, are not affected by extreme heat and extreme cold external environmental conditions. In the temperature range of +5°C to +50°C, there is no change or degradation in the drinking quality of stored water," he continued.
"We Certify and Prove That We Preserve Water Quality with International Standards"
Emphasizing that Ekomaxi is among the few companies that manufacture in accordance with international standards, Yağız said: "With the quality certificate we have earned the right to receive from WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme), the most important quality management organization that determines measurement and control standards for drinking water quality in the world, we certify and prove with international standards that we preserve water quality. We also hold the distinction of being the first Turkish company to receive WRAS certification for composite panel products up to 50°C. With the value our products provide, we are a solution partner for prestigious projects in the Middle East and Europe," he said.
They Export Modular Water Tank Systems to More Than 50 Countries on 5 Continents
Stating that Ekomaxi, with its high production capacity and stock capability, is a solution partner for prestigious projects in Turkey and many countries in the world, Osman Yağız said: "Today, we export modular water tank systems to more than 50 countries on 5 continents. As Ekomaxi, which has always set firsts in the industry, we will continue to work to contribute to our country's economy with further investments, employment and exports in the coming period," he concluded.
