University sets patent record
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz stated that the university has filed over 330 patent applications to date. Emphasizing that efforts are being made to further increase this number during his tenure, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz made the following remarks on the matter: "With the direct involvement of our Technology Transfer Office and our support, we conducted detailed patent research. As a result of these investigations, we identified hundreds of patents belonging to our faculty members. We realized that most could attract serious interest. We filed applications in the university's name for these. Ultimately, we developed a patent portfolio exceeding 330. Whereas in previous periods in the university's history 4 patents were transferred to the sector, we have transferred 8 patents in our tenure alone. We managed to double the number of patent transfers in three years. We are continuing these efforts consistently. We are committed to fulfilling all responsibilities within our scope for developing university-industry cooperation and increasing private sector interest in our university. Today we will also complete the transfer of patents obtained from Prof. Dr. Dilek Kut's project and team. We thank our faculty members for their efforts and the company receiving the patents for their interest. May it be auspicious and successful."Gratitude from academics
Prof. Dr. Dilek Kut, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at BUÜ, emphasized that her team, which included Assoc.
