BUTEXCOMP Introduction Meeting Held An introduction meeting was held for the Composite Materials and Technical Textiles Prototype Production and Application Center (BUTEXCOMP), the most important EU-supported technological transformation project that will increase Turkey's competitiveness in composite materials and technical textiles, conducted by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO). The first event of the BUTEXCOMP project, which was implemented under the BUTEKOM umbrella within the framework of the Competitive Sectors Program with BTSO's leadership, was organized. During the 1st Information and Workshop Event, which was held under BUTEKOM's auspices with the participation of international experts and lasted two days, theoretical training and applied prototype production were conducted on "Smart Textiles and Wearable Electronics" and "Near-Net-Shaped Preforms for Composite Materials."

The meeting was attended by BUTEKOM Academic Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan, BUTEKOM General Director Dr. Mustafa Hatipoğlu, BUTEXCOMP Project Team Leader Richard Smits and sector representatives, as well as Melanie Hoerr from Aachen University of Germany and Matteo Moretti from Oxford Brookes University in England, both with international achievements in technical textiles and composites. In his opening remarks, BUTEKOM Academic Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan noted that BTSO aims to transform Bursa's industry into an advanced technology and high value-added production structure. Stating that BUTEKOM is one of the most important projects implemented by BTSO within the framework of qualified transformation in industry, Karahan said: "With BTSO's vision, BUTEKOM has acquired a different identity and has entered a structure aimed at the transformation of the automotive sectors that use both textiles and advanced composite materials. First, test and R&D infrastructure was created. Currently, we are establishing a prototyping center. The purpose of this center is to enable our companies to convert the knowledge acquired through R&D into products and move to the commercialization stage. BUTEKOM currently has an infrastructure and machinery equipment that covers all stages from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 1 to 7."
