Arkema Expands Bostik's US Adhesives Business with Acquisition of Edge Adhesives Texas

Bostik, the Adhesive Solutions segment of Arkema (Colombes), has expanded its high-performance adhesive offerings in the United States through the planned acquisition of Edge Adhesives Texas (Fort Worth), a complementary player in hot-melt adhesives and pressure-sensitive segments. According to Arkema, this new adhesive product line, while not applicable to prepreg manufacturing, can be used for fiber-reinforced films and glass-fiber mats. This project aligns with Arkema's bolt-on acquisition strategy to develop greater breadth in adhesives and introduce new products to meet rising demand. Edge Adhesives Texas is a developer and manufacturer of innovative adhesive solutions used in residential applications, with reported annual sales of approximately USD 12 million. Operating a plant in Fort Worth, Texas, the company employs around 50 people and specializes in custom formulations for the rapidly growing easy-to-install window, door and roofing applications. Arkema is focused on delivering composite solutions to the construction market. The company highlights its innovation platform "Home efficiency and insulation," which directs its R&D toward materials and solutions for sustainable construction.
