Antimicrobial Additive Anti-Cor's Synthetic Leather Applications Anti-Cor is a water-based antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal biocidal product containing an organosilane quaternary amine compound with long-term durability. Anti-Cor was developed to eliminate the growth and development of microorganisms on treated surfaces and to provide long-term protection of the relevant surface. The Anti-Cor product is used as an additive material in polyurethane applications in many sectors such as textiles, automotive and packaging, and demonstrates high effectiveness against microorganisms. In addition to providing lasting long-term protection through the protective barrier it creates on surfaces where Anti-Cor is applied: • Being water-based, • Not being flammable or caustic, • Not containing heavy metals or silver ions, • Not having carcinogenic effects, • Being colorless and not staining, • Containing EPA-registered active substances, • Being approved by the Ministry of Health, it is preferred in different application areas due to its many positive properties. The Anti-Cor product exhibits good adhesion behavior on the surfaces where it is applied through the silane group in its chemical structure, while its quaternary ammonium cation structure particularly denatures the proteins of enveloped viruses such as Covid-19, bacteria and fungal cells, rendering the relevant microorganisms inactive. According to ISO 21702:2019 standard, when Covid-19 (SARS-COV-2) virus is added to a metal surface coated with Anti-Cor, the surface's virus killing efficacy is determined to be 99.9999%. The Anti-Cor product can be added as an additive material to polyurethane, or can be added into the resin during the primer stage, which is the finishing process, allowing it to be safely used in synthetic leather applications. As a result of studies conducted using both methods, synthetic leather samples with antibacterial properties have been successfully obtained. In the antibacterial activity determination conducted by an independent laboratory with international accreditation, synthetic leather samples treated with Anti-Cor demonstrated strong antibacterial effect at 99.9%.
