Aksa Akrilik's Everfresh Technology Neutralizes Covid-19
Aksa Akrilik has demonstrated the efficacy of its Everfresh technology against Covid-19. Test results showed that coronavirus lost 97.48% of its effectiveness within 30 minutes on textile products using Everfresh.
Following four years of development at Aksa Akrilik's R&D center, the antimicrobial fiber product Everfresh was launched to market in 2020 and has successfully passed Covid-19 testing. With permanent antimicrobial properties, Everfresh offers application possibilities across a wide range of areas from masks to home textiles, rendering coronavirus largely ineffective in numerous products including denim, activewear, underwear, socks, carpets and bed linens. According to tests, coronavirus loses 97.48% of its effectiveness within 30 minutes on products using Everfresh.
Everfresh protection in spaces
Unlike products manufactured through spraying or similar methods, Everfresh exhibits antimicrobial effects through the zinc compound present within the fiber itself. As it is not a finishing treatment, the product, which does not harm human health or skin, can be used in carpets, blankets, quilts, bed linens, towels and pillows. During this period when community hygiene needs are felt at the highest level, the use of Everfresh products in crowded spaces such as hotels, mosques and dormitories where gatherings are more frequent significantly reduces coronavirus impact. Everfresh, expected to come to the fore particularly in carpet use in collective spaces, becomes ideal with its property of preventing bacteria, fungus and mold formation. Standing out with its superior qualities, the product also appears advantageous in terms of price. Even when washed repeatedly, Everfresh does not lose its strong initial antimicrobial effectiveness and efficacy against coronavirus, thus meeting hygiene needs better than ever before.Developed in line with community expectations
Cengiz Taş, Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Aksa Akrilik, noted that Everfresh technology is an important R&D product delivered to the textile sector, emphasizing that the product does not provide protection against coronavirus but renders the virus on its surface 97.48% ineffective within a certain period. Pointing to increased demand for antibacterial products following the pandemic, Taş stated: "We are very pleased to respond with our new product Everfresh to the hygiene awareness-driven needs in society. Everfresh once again demonstrates its difference in the sector by eliminating 97.48% of coronavirus within half an hour on textile products. Thanks to the zinc compound in Everfresh's composition, we impart antimicrobial properties to products while also preventing bad odors and reducing washing needs. I can say it meets all expectations with its quick-dry properties, water vapor permeability, air permeability, thermal insulation, soft, lightweight and comfortable structure. Our product has attracted considerable interest in the market since last year and continues to do so. Furthermore, we anticipate that in the coming period we will best meet the concentrated market demand, particularly for carpets featuring Everfresh technology," he said.Advertisement
