Tüpraş Named on List of “50 Companies to Watch in 2022”

Tüpraş became the only Turkish company to be included on the "50 Companies to Watch in 2022" list, which was created based on the views of Bloomberg sector expert analysts and features the world's leading companies. Bloomberg Intelligence, the independent research arm of Bloomberg, selected 50 companies from among 2,000 companies operating in different sectors such as finance, retail, energy and technology as companies to be closely monitored in 2022. The list, published on 11 January, drew particular attention to 50 global stocks. The list included Tüpraş's market value, the rate of change in 2020 sales, 3-year total shareholder return, 12-month revenue, and indicators such as female representation on the board of directors. In analyst views, it was noted that "for the Turkish refinery company, the achievement of full capacity utilization expected with increasing fuel demand created strong improvement expectations for 2022." In November 2021, Tüpraş announced its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 with the transition to clean energy and its strategic transformation plan, with the goal of leadership in the energy sector of the future. Under the strategic transformation plan, Tüpraş aims to invest approximately USD 5 billion by 2035, with an average of USD 350 million per year, and a total of USD 10 billion by 2050. When compiling the "50 Companies to Watch in 2022" list in which Tüpraş was included, factors such as companies' growth expectations, management changes, and plans for important products and services to be brought to market were taken into account. The research also focused on topics such as rising electric vehicle sales, clean energy transition, and opportunities in the metaverse, in the context of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
