Toros Meram Renewable Energy Wins Major Award Toros Meram Renewable Energy has been named the recipient of an Excellence Award in the "Anaerobic Digestion Leadership Over 1 Megawatt" category by the UK-based Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA). The "Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Industry Awards" were organized in collaboration between the London-based Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA) to raise awareness of biogas potential and encourage sectoral investment. At the organization, held annually since 2010, 13 first-place awards and 8 excellence awards were distributed across 10 categories. Toros Meram Renewable Energy was recognized with an Excellence Award in the "Anaerobic Digestion Leadership Over 1 Megawatt" category. Hakan Göral, CEO of Toros Agriculture and Agricultural Industry Group, expressed satisfaction with receiving an award at such an important organization for the sector, offering the following remarks:

"Toros Meram Renewable Energy, established through a partnership between Toros Agriculture and Altaca Energy, contributes to renewable energy production in our country by generating electricity from biogas. Additionally, through organic and organomineral fertilizer production, it supports the construction of a sustainable future in agriculture. We are pleased that this investment, which we have implemented to protect our shared future and create a sustainable development model, has received recognition on an international platform in a sector where over 130,000 enterprises worldwide operate." Toros Gönen Renewable Energy, which also operates as a partnership between Toros Agriculture and Altaca Energy, was selected as the world's best in its field by ADBA in 2016.     Toros Meram Renewable Energy Production Inc., an affiliate of Toros Agriculture, produces biogas and generates electricity from biogas through fermentation of organic waste. The facility also produces solid and liquid organic fertilizer from waste that has completed the gasification process, meeting the needs of Turkey's soil. The facility, which has a production capacity of 6 MW of electricity, 75,000 tons per year of solid organomineral fertilizer and 15,000 tons of liquid organic fertilizer, is also Turkey's largest integrated biogas and organic fertilizer facility. The facility, which can dispose of 770 tons of wet waste daily, sources its raw materials from livestock farms, agricultural operations and food factories in the surrounding area. Meram Renewable Energy, a successful implementation of the circular economy, also makes an important contribution to reducing environmental pollution through its organic waste disposal capacity in the region.
