Investment Visit to GEBKİM from Tatneft
Tatneft conducted an investment visit to GEBKİM following the preliminary protocol agreement signed on 24 June 2021. At the visit attended by Tatneft General Director Nail Maganov, the parties discussed the future of the preliminary protocol agreement, while other investments Tatneft planned to make in Turkey were also addressed. GEBKİM OIZ Management Board Chairman V. İbrahim Aracı commented on the discussions, stating: "We will begin to see the results of the preliminary protocol agreement we signed with Tatneft in Ankara."
Turkey's first chemical specialised OIZ, GEBKİM, and Tatneft, one of Russia's largest petrochemical producers, had signed a preliminary protocol agreement on 24 June 2021 for facility investment.
The agreement, signed under the chairmanship of Vice President Fuat Oktay and Rüstem Minnihanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, envisaged the establishment of a facility for raw material production in GEBKİM OIZ.
Following the agreement, senior management of Tatneft visited GEBKİM on 28 September to discuss the steps to be taken after the agreement.
Among the Tatneft executives who visited GEBKİM OIZ were Tatneft General Director Nail Maganov, Petrogas Chemistry Group Director Azat Bikmurzin, Petroleum Products Export Manager Luiza Bagautdinova, and Assistant General Manager Evgeni Kahichko. Additionally, RF Republic of Tatarstan Trade Office Head Ramil Mavlyutov and Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation Radik Gimatdinov attended the discussions as observers. GEBKİM OIZ was represented by Management Board Chairman V. İbrahim Aracı, Management Board Vice Chairman M. Şafak Türkay, Board Members M. Cem Yelten, Sebahattin Işık and Eralp Erdem.
Investments to be Made in Other Regions of Turkey Also Discussed
Making statements about the discussions, GEBKİM OIZ Management Board Chairman V. İbrahim Aracı said: "The parties re-evaluated and reviewed once more the information shared within the framework of the protocol agreement. We also exchanged views regarding other investments Tatneft plans to make in other regions of Turkey. We believe that we will soon begin to see the results of our protocol agreement."Advertisement
