SOCAR Turkey R&D Project Wins Horizon Europe Programme Funding
SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation Inc.'s Circular TwAIn project, the company's first digital initiative developed through the AI Platform for Integrated Sustainable and Circular Manufacturing partnership, has been selected for funding by the European Commission's Horizon Europe Programme (HEUROPE).
SOCAR Turkey, one of Turkey's largest industrial holding companies, continues its research and development activities and innovative projects for sustainable, efficient and secure energy supply.
The project, which includes 10 international partners in the working consortium, aims to develop a digital tool that will provide energy efficiency in large-scale manufacturing facilities through artificial intelligence.
Through the Circular TwAIn project, the company will manage the wide-scale demonstration of the digital application to be developed and support validation testing at PETKİM's EO/EG facility. Selected for grant support by the European Commission's Horizon Europe Programme, the Circular TwAIn project will make significant contributions to reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint through its outputs.
Developing Digital Technologies for Sustainability

The Circular TwAIn project, which will support the development of our medium and long-term digitalization, sustainability and energy optimization strategies, will advance with the partnership of 10 international partners from Spain, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Cyprus and Norway. Our company's 'CO2 Focus', 'CARMOF' and 'NEFERTITI' projects previously received funding under the EU Horizon 2020-Carbon Capture, Storage and Utilization Programme. The Circular TwAIn project, of which we are a partner, has become our fourth project deemed worthy of support by EU funds.
