Mehmet Abbasoğlu Appointed New General Manager of Petrol Ofisi

Petrol Ofisi appoints new General Manager, Selim Şiper joins Board of Directors.Petrol Ofisi announced that General Manager Selim Şiper will transition to a non-executive position as of 1 September 2022, and Mehmet Abbasoğlu, currently serving as CFO, will be appointed as the new General Manager effective that date. Selim Şiper, who served in the position for five years, led efforts during this period to increase Petrol Ofisi's brand value and strengthen its position as a sector leader. He will continue his role as a Board member of Petrol Ofisi and will also join the Board of Vivo Energy, Vitol's distribution subsidiary in Africa. Mehmet Abbasoğlu, who assumes the role, has more than thirty years of experience in finance, telecommunications and energy sectors. He joined Vitol in 2016 from Société Générale, where he worked in London, and has served as Petrol Ofisi's CFO following Vitol's acquisition of the company. In his previous positions, Mehmet Abbasoğlu worked as a senior executive at Macquarie, J.P. Morgan and Turkcell respectively. Since joining Petrol Ofisi, he has led initiatives including financial restructuring and digitalization, establishment of personal credit and fintech subsidiaries, energy supply diversification and development of non-fuel services.
