Petrol Ofisi Wins "Our Energy, Our Future" Award

Petrol Ofisi Recognized with "Our Energy Our Future" Award At the 5th Energy and Natural Resources Summit held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the "Transformation Has Begun for Water's Future" project implemented by Petrol Ofisi in Biodiesel Industry Coordination received the "Our Energy Our Future" award. Through the "Transformation Has Begun for Water's Future" project, solutions are implemented to prevent water source pollution, and used cooking oils are collected in compliance with regulations and converted into biodiesel. Since November, used oils have been collected at Petrol Ofisi stations and recovered through recycling. At the 5th Energy and Natural Resources Summit held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and taking place in Istanbul, "Our Energy Our Future" awards were presented to exemplary sustainability projects implemented in the energy sector. Petrol Ofisi and the Biodiesel Industry Association became recipients of this award with their project.

Used Oils Accumulated in Homes Are Being Converted into Biodiesel Through the Project

At the summit where the "Transformation Has Begun for Water's Future" project was recognized with the award, Biodiesel Industry Association President Selçuk Borovalı received the award from Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez. Borovalı made statements regarding the project. Noting that the project began implementation at selected Petrol Ofisi stations in November, Borovalı stated: "Based on the circular economy principle, we have successfully implemented an exemplary project with Petrol Ofisi. Used cooking oils accumulated in homes are collected at special collection points established at stations in an environmentally safe manner. Used cooking oils collected through licensed waste vegetable oil collectors are subsequently converted into biodiesel. In this way, we support both environmental protection and resource conservation, while also contributing to increasing the share of renewable energy in our country and reducing the carbon footprint in transportation. I hope that through this project, which we are successfully implementing in cooperation with Petrol Ofisi, environmentally conscious citizens will help collect more used cooking oils in our country and the application will be extended nationwide." "We Aim to Ensure Clean Drinking Water for 2.2 Million People" Petrol Ofisi Chief Executive Officer Selim Şiper emphasized that Petrol Ofisi is one of Turkey's most important companies founded on national values on these lands and that contributing to the future as a traditional leader in its sectors is among its absolute objectives. Şiper stated: "Therefore, we are pleased to serve and contribute to such an important matter with such a correct solution. We aim to ensure clean drinking water for approximately 2.2 million people through the cooking oils to be collected at our stations. On the other hand, the conversion of the collected oils into biodiesel provides benefits both in terms of carbon emissions and economically. Our greatest wish is that this exemplary and important project becomes more widespread and similar projects increase as a result of this award."
