Oil Imports Rise 22.3 Percent According to a report by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, Turkey's total oil imports in October increased 22.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 4 million 205 thousand 304 tons. ISTANBUL (AA)- The Energy Market Regulatory Authority released its 'Oil Market Sector Report' for October. According to this report, crude oil imports, which constitute a major share of Turkey's oil imports, increased 24.2 percent and reached 2 million 893 thousand 199 tons. According to the released report, an increase was observed in October compared to the same month of the previous year. In October, oil imports rose 22.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 4 million 205 thousand 34 tons. Diesel imports increased 8.7 percent, with 1 million 45 thousand 382 tons of exports realized. The remaining portion of the import figures consisted of aviation and maritime fuels, gasoline and fuel-oil types and other categories.

Most Imports from Iraq

Iraq was the country from which crude and oil product imports were realized the most. Turkey imported 1 million 384 thousand tons from Iraq. Iraq was followed by Russia with 1 million 119 thousand tons and Norway with 296 thousand tons. According to October data, gasoline sales also increased 45 percent compared to October of the previous year, reaching 247 tons. Diesel sales, however, declined. Diesel sales decreased 1.1 percent to 2 million 409 thousand 483 tons. Oil product sales increased 2.9 percent and reached 2 million 840 thousand 135 tons.

Aviation Fuel Imports Rise 73.1 Percent

Aviation fuel imports had come to a standstill due to restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. This year, recovery began in aviation fuel exports. In October, aviation fuel imports increased 73.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 326 thousand 877 tons. Maritime fuel exports increased 67.6 percent to 173 thousand 211 tons, while gasoline type exports declined 14.6 percent to 163 thousand 154 tons. Diesel type exports increased 0.6 percent, reaching 256 thousand 265 tons.
