Uzbekistan GTL Plant Begins Synthetic Oil Production
The Uzbekistan GTL facility has officially brought to market the first batch of synthetic oil in New Uzbekistan's petrochemical industry history.
The obtained oil serves as a primary feedstock for synthetic diesel fuel, jet fuel, naphtha and liquefied gas production at the GTL facility.
Synthetic oils currently produced are being stored in the refinery's intermediate storage tanks, and production of high-quality, environmentally friendly synthetic liquid fuels such as GTL diesel, gas oil, naphtha and LPG will commence shortly through refining.
Synthetic liquid fuel production for the first time in Uzbekistan represents a new technological stage in the development of the Republic's modern petrochemical and oil and gas processing industry, and is symbolically regarded as a historic day.
On 14 June 2022, synthesis gas production at the GTL facility was fully launched. On the night of 14-15 June, the produced synthesis gas was sent for the first time to Fischer-Tropsch reactors, the synthetic liquid production unit.
As a result of physical and chemical reactions in the technological process, synthetic oil formation in the reactor was noted and confirmed through laboratory testing. It was dispatched to storage tanks.
The entire commissioning process providing full control and management of approximately 11,000 pieces of equipment and main production units, as well as their synchronized operation throughout the facility, is being carried out independently by engineers and young specialists of Uzbekistan GTL factory, without direct participation of foreign experts.
