Shell Remains Uncontested Leader of Global Lubricants Market for the 18th Time

According to a report by global market research and consulting firm Kline + Company, Shell has become the world's number one lubricants supplier for the 18th consecutive time.
Shell ranked number one globally in mineral oils supply for the 18th consecutive year, according to a report by global market research and consulting firm Kline + Company.
Shell, which operates the Mediterranean's only grease facility and largest mineral oil plant in Kocaeli Derince and has conducted part of global mineral oil production in Turkey for many years, maintained its global sector leadership across the three main categories covered in the report—passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle and industrial oils—as well as overall.
Kline + Company's report titled 'Global Mineral Oils: Market Analysis and Assessment' was prepared based on 2023 data covering the world's leading mineral oil markets, market segments, product types and formulations.
"We aim to protect our leading position"
Shell Mineral Oils Global Vice President Jason Wong made the following assessment regarding 18 years of continuous leadership:
"Our sustained global leadership in the mineral oils sector is the strongest proof of our commitment to delivering the right mineral oil solutions to consumers, commercial customers and industrial users.
We take pride in supporting global mobility through our innovative brands, technology and human resources. In the coming period, we aim to maintain this leading position by providing mineral oils and fluid solutions for the future," he said.
Behind Shell's global leadership are investments in many market-preferred premium and differentiated products such as Shell Helix passenger vehicle motor oils, Shell Rimula truck and heavy-duty motor oils, and Shell Tellus and Shell Gadus industrial oils and greases.
Ready for the future today with battery and data center fluids
Shell was also among the first brands to introduce its E-Fluids portfolio in 2019, and today improves the efficiency, safety and sustainability of electric vehicles with Shell E-Fluids.
These products offer innovative solutions not only for electric vehicles, but also for areas such as data centers and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). In this context, Shell has also developed a series of immersion cooling fluids that push boundaries in performance, efficiency and sustainability.
Shell Mineral Oils plays a critical role in realizing Shell's goal of becoming a net zero emissions energy company by 2050. In line with this target, Shell reduces carbon emissions from its own operations while helping customers minimize their carbon footprints and reduce waste.
Contributing to fuel efficiency and engine life
To this end, Shell also develops sustainable packaging and circular solutions to reduce waste and offers more environmentally friendly options through its biodegradable products.
Shell's advanced low-viscosity oils can increase fuel efficiency in vehicles by up to 3% and energy savings in industrial applications by up to 4%. These characteristics extend the life of engines and machines while also contributing to emissions reductions.
According to Kline + Company's report, Shell consolidated its leadership with 11.6% global market share in 2023. Shell Mineral Oils' global sales distribution by segment materialized as 36% consumer automotive, 33% industrial and 31% commercial automotive.
