World's First Gas-to-Gasoline Production Facility Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri, a group company of Rönesans Holding, signed a memorandum of understanding for the second phase of the GTG project, which was implemented in Turkmenistan and entered the Guinness World Records as the 'World's First Gas-to-Gasoline Production Facility'. According to a statement from Rönesans Holding, an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was agreed between Türkmenhimya, Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Itochu Cooperation regarding the GTG-2 project. The holding, which operates through its companies in construction, real estate, healthcare, energy and petrochemistry across a broad geography spanning 30 countries in Turkey, Europe, Central Asia and Africa, completed preliminary agreements for a major project to be implemented in Central Asia at the 14th Japan-Turkmenistan Economic Conference held in Tokyo, Japan's capital. The conference, held on 22 December 2022, was chaired by Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister and Vice President Rashid Meredov and Itochu Cooperation Director Hiroyuki Tsubai. Under the agreement, a second Gas-to-Gasoline (GTG) project will be constructed, following the first facility implemented between 2014-2019 jointly with Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan's capital. The original facility, the world's first gas-to-gasoline production plant, was built at a cost of USD 1.7 billion. The first GTG facility, which came online in 2019, entered the Guinness World Records as a large-scale industrial facility under the title 'World's First Gas-to-Gasoline Production Facility'. Osman Bozkurt, Vice President of Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri, whose views were included in the statement, noted that Rönesans possesses significant experience in constructing large-scale industrial facilities with certified innovative qualities, adding: 'We take great pride and satisfaction in reflecting this experience in new projects alongside our strong business partners and, as a Turkish company, undertaking major large-scale industrial projects across different geographies of the world.'
