ClearSign Technologies Collaboration Partner Narion Corp Receives SBIR Grant to Develop Flare Methane Sensor
ClearSign Technologies Corporation operates in industrial combustion and sensing technologies that significantly reduce emissions while enhancing energy, operational efficiency and safety.
ClearSign Technologies Corporation announced that its collaboration partner Narion Corp has received a USD 250,000 Department of Energy SBIR Phase I grant for "Cost-Effective Real-Time Flare Gas Characterization to Optimize Methane Destruction."
In partnership with ClearSign, Narion will develop a new combustion characterization sensor that directly determines operational parameters to ensure efficient and complete combustion of flared waste gas. The sensor will also help optimize the value propositions of waste gas capture systems by facilitating the selective recovery of high-value waste gas.
ClearSign Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jim Deller said "We are excited to announce this milestone demonstrating the application of our sensor technology to broad-based opportunities beyond our traditional ClearSign Core low-emission burner technology and flame detection applications. We pursued this partnership with Narion to pursue such opportunities, and we congratulate them on this success," and added "This is another example of how we deliver solutions that are critical both for the industry to comply with strict regulatory requirements cost-effectively and for global efforts to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
With this technology developed by Narion using ClearSign's sensor technology, greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced and carbon emissions from flare systems, which are greatly needed in the industry, will be lowered. We eagerly look forward to the progress of this project and the commercialization of the resulting products."
