CITGO Wins Multiple Awards for Safety Excellence

CITGO Receives Multiple Awards for Safety Excellence CITGO Petroleum Corporation recently received three safety awards recognizing outstanding safety results at both its terminals and refining operations. CITGO terminals received the Safety Excellence Award from the International Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) for outstanding safety performance in 2021. This is the most recent award of its kind from ILTA, which has recognized CITGO multiple times over the past decade for safety performance. Both CITGO refineries in Lemont, Illinois and Corpus Christi, Texas received the Safety Achievement Award from the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM). The award recognizes excellent safety performance in the oil and gas industry. This marked the third consecutive year that AFPM has recognized safety performance at CITGO refineries. CITGO President and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Jordá said, "Safety is the foundation of our operational excellence." "We are honored to receive these distinguished awards as evidence of our commitment to maintaining the highest operational safety standards at our refineries and terminals," he said. CITGO operates three refineries with a combined total crude oil capacity of 769,000 barrels per day and owns fully and/or jointly 38 active terminals and six pipelines, which comprise one of the largest distribution networks in the country.
