Important Visit from Baku to SOCAR Türkiye A delegation led by Azerbaijan Economy Minister and SOCAR Supervisory Board Chairman Mikayil Jabbarov visited SOCAR Türkiye. A delegation led by Azerbaijan Economy Minister and SOCAR Supervisory Board Chairman Mikayil Jabbarov held meetings at SOCAR Türkiye during its visit to Turkey. During the visit, information was provided on the work carried out by SOCAR Türkiye in 2021, the steps taken regarding 2022 targets and future projects. In his statement, Azerbaijan Economy Minister and SOCAR Supervisory Board Chairman Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized the significance of SOCAR Türkiye group company STAR Rafineri being included in the World Economic Forum's "Global Lighthouse Network" of leading manufacturing facilities and being the first refinery in the world to receive this award. Mikayil Jabbarov also attended an awards ceremony held by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and received the award presented to SOCAR Türkiye from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that SOCAR was pleased to contribute to the economy of sister country Turkey and noted that SOCAR Türkiye's ranking 8th on the 2021 Export Champions list announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly was a great achievement. Rövşan Najaf, First Deputy Chairman of SOCAR and SOCAR Deputy Chairman, who attended the visit, stated that SOCAR attaches importance to using clean and digital energy technologies in all group companies, taking into account current developments in the world. Rövşan Najaf, referencing SOCAR's strategic initiatives such as energy transition, digitalization and innovation, said that the successes achieved by SOCAR Türkiye through digitalization represent an important component of this strategy. Following the meetings, the delegation visited the Azerbaijan Oil Museum located in the SOCAR Türkiye building.
