Green Energy House and Silicon Purification Laboratory Opened The opening ceremony of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University's Green Energy House and Silicon Purification Laboratory was held with the participation of Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu delivered the opening remarks at the ceremony, stating: "Today we have the honor of hosting a very important guest at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. I welcome our esteemed Minister Mustafa Varank, who graciously accepted our invitation and participated in our opening ceremonies. Founded in 1992 and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, our University has grown into a major education and research institution with 13 Faculties, 6 Vocational Schools, 4 institutes, 2 colleges, 1 conservatory, 14 Application and Research Centers, and 23,786 students," he said. Adding that Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University aims to produce qualified and competent graduates to meet the needs of the region and the country by efficiently utilizing its own resources along with its knowledge and experience in research and development and its young and dynamic academic staff, Rector Prof. Dr. Uslu continued: "Our University, making the best use of all the opportunities provided by the state, will continue its efforts today with the same commitment and determination as yesterday, pursuing work that will add value to domestic and national technology initiatives such as our Silicon Technology Laboratory and Green Energy House that will be opened today. Feeling the support of our state leaders behind us while pursuing these efforts is very important to us. I extend my thanks, particularly to our President, our Minister of Industry and Technology, and our KOP Chairman for their support in making these projects a reality. In this context, I reiterate before our esteemed Minister that our University will continue to serve our nation and people at all times in a manner befitting the name of our hero Ömer Halisdemir," he said. Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank began by saying: "I feel great pleasure at being together with you in Niğde, the beautiful homeland of Anatolia, the city of heroes, and I greet you all with respect and affection." "While bringing the most excellent services to our nation, we are also trying to shape the future of our cities through comprehensive regional development policies," said Minister Varank. "Although we have not been able to meet in person recently, Niğde has always held a very special place on our agenda. In Ankara, we held repeated meetings with our parliamentarians, our metropolitan mayor, district mayors, and our provincial chairman regarding Niğde. Together with our Ministry, our Development Agency and KOP Regional Development Administration, we held meetings day and night on how to support targeted projects that will serve the development of our province. Today's visit is taking place alongside the opening of important projects that are the fruit of these efforts, and thankfully we are here with a very full agenda. Here at Ömer Halisdemir University, we will conduct the official opening of two important projects completed with the support of the KOP Regional Administration," he said. Continuing his remarks, Minister Varank stated: "Inshallah, we will try to meet with you more frequently from now on by focusing on Niğde's great potential. Today we will also have the opportunity to discuss our city's industry, current situation and upcoming efforts together. We will evaluate our strengths, opportunities and needs both with the city's leaders and directly with our industrialists. With the feedback we receive from you, we will launch new projects to increase Niğde's production, exports and employment, and together we will strive to bring Niğde to the position it deserves. I sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to this process," he said.

Minister Varank concluded his remarks stating: "One of the areas that will shape the future of Niğde and indeed Turkey is solar energy, one of the renewable energy sources. By utilizing the solar energy potential it possesses, Niğde can achieve significant successes that will impact Turkey's future. For this reason, together with the KOP Regional Development Administration, we focused on the region's solar energy potential and entered into cooperation with Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. The Nanotechnology Application and Research Center here has serious knowledge accumulation and serious infrastructure. We designed new projects that will have an impact across the entire country by utilizing and developing it," he said. Following the opening ceremony, presentations were made to Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank in the University Rectorate Senate Hall regarding the University's Green Energy House, Silicon Purification Laboratory, and Niğde Technopark. Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank's program at the university concluded after touring the university's Green Energy House, Silicon Purification Laboratory, and Nanotechnology Application and Research Center, where briefings were provided by Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kaplan and Assistant Professor Dr. Ayşe Seyhan.
