Sakarya University of Applied Sciences Produces Chemical-Free Essential Oil

SCÜ Commercializes Chemical-Free Essential Oil Production Sivas Cumhuriyet University (SCÜ) is commercializing the production of chemical-free essential oils. According to a statement from Sivas Cumhuriyet University, SCÜ has begun production for sale of essential oils in the Essential Oil Production Laboratory established within the framework of a project supported by the CÜBAP Coordination Office. Commenting on the Essential Oil Laboratory, Burak Dinçel, Lecturer at the Yıldızeli Vocational School of Higher Education, Food Processing Department, stated that essential oils are obtained from medicinal and aromatic plants produced and supplied by the laboratory at 100 percent purity and without any mixture compared to products sold on the market, using no chemical substances and only steam distillation. Dinçel noted that essential oils are used in aromatherapy, cosmetics, as disinfectants and insecticides, and that lavender oil, which is produced at the laboratory, has been scientifically proven to be effective against insomnia, stress, dementia, Alzheimer's disease and other conditions. The produced essential oils have begun to be sold in 10-millilitre amber bottles at the SCÜ Agricultural Application and Research Centre Greenhouses.
