Color Laboratory Receives Certification
Recently, the ELIX color laboratory in Tarragona was approved by the Renault design department; this means ELIX can self-validate new or existing colors with new materials according to Renault specifications and color approval procedures, rather than requiring an accredited third-party laboratory.
Renault and ELIX have been working together for many years, and ELIX's various products were recently approved on the latest Thermoplastics Renault Materials Panel (PMR). ELIX Polymers also provides Renault technical support in its layers for different applications, such as ABS used for interior trim parts or chrome-plated exterior front grilles.
Specialty styrene-based thermoplastics
ELIX Polymers, one of the world's leading companies in specialty styrene-based thermoplastics, has a broad product portfolio consisting of pre-colored ABS and ABS blends for the automotive industry. Especially in interior applications, aesthetics is key to differentiating product value in visible areas of automobiles and improving quality perception. The color matching required for different parts to match each other underscores the importance of meeting strict color tolerances between different materials and batches. Pre-colored materials have many advantages compared to masterbatch solutions for in-house coloring, including color stability, color differences between batches, and risk reduction. ELIX has comprehensive expertise in developing colors based on OEM requirements, including colors using different surface textures and gloss targets. The ELIX laboratory contains various equipment such as twin-screw extruders, automotive OEM textured molds, colorimeters, light cabinets, and a Xenotest aging chamber. SourceAdvertisement
