Laboratory Automation Solutions from Rudolph Research Analitik At Rudolph Research, additional software allows instruments to be networked together to automatically measure Density, Specific Gravity, Optical Rotation, Specific Rotation, Refractive Index, Brix, Urea, pH, Color (Reflectance and Transmittance) and more parameters without computer connection. Setup can even be configured with an automatic sample changer that enables sampling from your own sample bottles. • Self-validating system - New software facilitates Daily system validations that can be performed as frequently as desired without any interruption to your routine. • Custom magazines allowing use of your own sample bottles - Saves time and money, and eliminates the need to pour samples from one bottle to another. Use the same bottle you are accustomed to: 16x100mm, 13x100mm, 13x7mm, 5mL and more. • Heated Magazines - For samples that become fluid when heated; two different configurations are available: 40/10 (40 heated and 10 unheated) or 20/30 (20 heated and 30 unheated). In the petroleum industry, there are samples measured after being heated to fluidity as well as samples that must be measured without heating. AutoFlex® R837 is the only automatic sample changer capable of measuring both heated and unheated samples in the same magazine. • Urgent sample - When an urgent sample arrives, simply place it in any position in the magazine and indicate the position to the instrument. As soon as the instrument finishes the measurement in progress, it goes to the position marked as urgent, measures that sample, and then continues measuring from where it left off. • Flexible Method Selection - One of our objectives at Rudolph Research Analitik is to simplify things for the user. Each sample may require different filling modes and/or parameters, measurement parameters, measurement criteria, temperature, wash solution type with cleaning parameters, wash solution volume used, and drying time. • Operation Without Attendance at the Instrument - You can connect up to 3 wash solution bottles to Rudolph's automation system. When solvents in the bottles run low, the system automatically alerts you. To prevent possible overflow and laboratory contamination, the system automatically alerts you when the waste container is nearly full. • Unique Features - However you place the sample bottle in the magazine, the automation system rotates the sample bottle, allowing the barcode reader to read sample information (QR, PDF417 or 2D labels). Low and high viscosity samples are filled flawlessly. The automation system measures Density, SG, OR, SR, RI, Brix, CIE L*a*b*, Gardner, ABS, %T, Cobalt, pH and automatically transfers results to LIMS, SAP or any proprietary data management system. After measurement is complete, the automation system empties the sample back into the bottle, then completely cleans and dries the system with zero cross contamination. With a Windows-based operating system, the possibilities are limitless. 2 Sample Capacity Automation Flexibility The fully automatic 2 Sample Drawer Model is a perfect solution for laboratories that want to benefit from automatic sample filling, cleaning and drying advantages but do not have a large number of samples to measure. • 3 sample filling techniques: vacuum, pressure or both. • 3 cleaning solutions connected for thorough system cleaning. • Automatic cleaning system allowing laboratory personnel to focus more efficiently on other tasks. • Samples can be automatically heated. • Can automatically fill blanks and samples. • System cleans itself and is always ready for use. • 1 to 6 measurement parameters per sample. • Shortens measurement time by changing position with the next sample.
Automatic Data Collection
Automatic sample intake, electronic data recording, sample name management and operator error reduction. Sample names can be automatically identified by the barcode reader from labels on test tubes and bottles. • Use any barcode format: PDF 417, 2D Matrix, UPC or any barcode of your laboratory's choice. • Barcode is recorded as Sample Name, measurements are taken and data can be transferred to a USB, network server, LIMS or any data storage system. • Regardless of how you place sample tubes, they are rotated as they pass the barcode reader, simplifying sample tube labeling. • Import List of Sample Names - Sample IDs can be saved and transferred to AutoFlex®, which can automatically fill the sample sequence without requiring sample labels. • Low sample volume consumption - AutoFlex® R837 uses less than 12 mL for 5 instrument measurement combinations: SG, RI, OR, LAB and pH (Density Meter, Refractometer, Polarimeter, pH Meter, Colorimeter). • Fast Analysis - Each result per sample takes 1.5 to 8 minutes (filling, measuring and cleaning).
Smart Sample Filling Technology
• SMART TECHNOLOGY™ automatically adjusts pump speed up to 36,000 mPa·s (cP) when transitioning between fluid and high viscosity samples. • Heated magazine option enables heavy crude oils to be pumped through the system. • Standard Methods: Define measurement configuration, sample filling configuration (Vacuum or Gas Displacement), wash solution selections and drying time. • Requires no additional pressurized air.
