Honeywell announced that it has completed the acquisition of Xtralis, one of the world's leading providers of air-sampling smoke detection systems, advanced environmental safety technologies and video analytics software, for USD 480 million.

David Paja, Head of Honeywell Security and Fire Division, said: "The acquisition of Xtralis aligns strategically well with our existing fire detection portfolio and will provide unique capabilities and customer solutions in remote video monitoring of fire and theft risks, advanced environmental security technologies and video analytics software. This acquisition will help us expand our Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) business unit and achieve strong growth in the coming years."
Xtralis air-sampling smoke detection solutions protect numerous Fortune 500 companies, historic structures and critical infrastructure worldwide through early warning and risk verification methods designed to accelerate response time and minimize facility damage and potential injuries.
The company will be integrated into Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions strategic business unit.
