Environmental Protection Control Laboratory Receives Accreditation Certificate

The Environmental Protection Control Laboratory operating under the General Directorate of ASAT of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality performs an important function to keep Antalya's water and environment clean with its high-standard services. The laboratory successfully passed another inspection and renewed its TÜRKAK Accreditation Certificate for the sixth time. The most comprehensive laboratory in the region, ASAT Environmental Protection Control Laboratory takes samples and provides testing services in water, wastewater and seawater matrices, conducting necessary analyses in the environmental field. The laboratory renewed its accreditation by proving its success in this field once again following inspections.

Waters under control

In 2021, within the scope of Environmental Protection Control Laboratory activities, 1,045 samples were taken from 32 Central Wastewater Treatment Facilities under the "Municipal Wastewater Treatment Regulation" and 3,402 parameter analyses were performed. Wastewater controls of pre-treatment facilities of industrial facilities and conventional wastewater-bearing enterprises such as hotels and hospitals were conducted.

Analysis of treatment waters

In 2021, to ensure more efficient operation of Central Wastewater Treatment Facilities and prevent wastewater from harming the environment, 954 samples were taken and analyses were performed on 5,327 parameters. Under the water basin protection regulation, samples were taken and analyses were conducted for control of enterprises discharging wastewater to the recipient environment in areas within the province declared as water source protection areas. In 2021, 1,750 parameter analyses were performed on 875 samples from seawater and surface waters.

The Environmental Protection Control Laboratory, which performs an important service for the healthy conduct of treatment activities in Antalya and keeping seawater clean, renewed its TÜRKAK Accreditation Certificate with its equipped infrastructure and expert staff in the field.
