Certific Expands Remote Testing Platform

Certific's journey, beginning with the launch of a digital screening service for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), guides patients through simple validated procedures, allowing medical specialists to focus on more complex and urgent consultations. Certific's platform will soon be scaled to support testing for other conditions with better prognosis through early intervention, such as STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections).

Certific Expands Remote Testing Platform for UTI Patients

UTIs are very common conditions, with 40% of women expected to experience these diseases during their lifetime, and 4.8 million women in the United Kingdom suffer from UTIs each year. As a result, UTIs account for a significant portion of resources within the healthcare system, according to NHS (National Health Service) data, accounting for up to 10 million general practitioner appointments each year.

The Covid-19 pandemic proved that patients could correctly test themselves at home with clear instructions. This reduces patient waiting times, increases uptake, and enables doctors to reach diagnosis immediately, giving them greater control over the speed of treatment decisions.

Healthcare providers collaborating with Certific can direct patients to the Certific platform to receive a UTI Test and Treatment kit within 24 hours of symptom onset. Patients then complete a brief health questionnaire through the Certific app and perform a guided self-test to obtain accurate results. Medical professionals can provide direct advice to the patient within 60 minutes of result submission with a customized treatment plan, which may also include a medical prescription.
