ALKÜ Expands Applied Laboratory Infrastructure

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) Faculty of Dentistry expands phantom laboratory capacity by 100 percent for student use. ALKÜ Faculty of Dentistry continues to upgrade its technical equipment to provide better education to its students. Starting classes with its first cohort in the 2018-2019 academic year, ALKÜ Faculty of Dentistry has expanded its "phantom laboratory," which serves to help students apply pre-clinical foundational knowledge and develop manual skills. In this regard, the capacity of the phantom laboratory, which is used for practical applications and serves to simulate various dental treatment procedures, has been doubled and new equipment has been made available to students.

Realistic Experience

ALKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Kalan commented on the matter, stating: "In the phantom laboratory, each of our students gains realistic experience before performing procedures on patients, and they are given the opportunity to practice working in correct positions on models under the supervision of our faculty members. ALKÜ Faculty of Dentistry, which continues to raise quality standards each day both in terms of personnel and technical capacity, will continue its efforts in this direction." he said.
