Perfume and Cologne Scents Being Distributed Worldwide
Distributing Perfume and Cologne Scents Worldwide
Hamdullah Adsoy, a chemical engineer from Mardin, is distributing patented perfume and cologne scents worldwide—a first-of-its-kind development in Turkey. Through R&D work producing natural scents, Adsoy continues manufacturing 65 varieties of fragrance.
Chemical engineer Hamdullah Adsoy, who gained recognition by capturing Mardin's essence in a bottle and achieved firsts by producing region-specific scents, has obtained patents for 10 fragrances. Presenting 65 products to the world, Adsoy's creations rank among tourists' most favored souvenirs. The scents, produced with the essence of natural products, convey their benefits through bottles and packaging.
Adsoy explained: "We have been in the cologne and perfume business for approximately 10 years. To bring something different, we decided to create scents beyond the typical colognes available in Turkey. We produced a Mars fragrance.
We named it after our brand. We created it from Mardin's seasonal fruits—cherries from the greenery, melon from Midyat, watermelon from Kızıltepe—mixing three scents to create an extraordinary Mars fragrance. We even made the Mars fragrance red in color to suit its name, since Mars is a red planet."
We have 65 different scents and bottles
"To also serve the region, we created scents for Antik Dara, Deyrulzafaran, Zinciriye, and Mardin Castle. We produced 10 varieties to preserve Mardin's historical sites through cologne. For example, we have a distributor in Erzurum, and for that region we created Palandöken, snowflake, and Erzurum Castle fragrances. We continue finding scents specific to each region. We don't just create fragrances but also give them region-specific colors. We think very carefully. In total, we have 65 different scents and bottles. Fragrances unique to Dr. Mars can only be found here. Currently in mass production are patented products such as agate stone, lemon particle, natural tobacco, chamomile, pomegranate stone, rose quartz, and olive cologne," he explained.Embedding history and meaning on the bottles
Hamdullah Adsoy emphasized that they produce bottles with special embossing and that considerable effort goes into the processing of bottles that describe the fragrances. He noted that the Mardin bottle is the most popular. "For example, we have a special Mardin bottle where we etched the city's pattern onto the bottle—not through photography but through our own craftsmanship. We placed the Church of Mary on one side in three dimensions and the minaret of the Grand Mosque on the other, trying to capture Mardin's view from above. We create minaret bottles and special fragrances, evaluating everything from perfume to cologne, from wood to what suits Mardin," he explained. We try to sell the highest quality at the lowest price
"Our goal is to reach every part of Turkey and expand into Europe and abroad. We are currently supplying products internationally. We send to England; we have a supply partner there. We send to the Netherlands, where a semi-operating distributor sells our products as cosmetics, perfume, and cologne. We give distributors 100 percent markup so they can profit and support the brand, or help the brand reach a certain level. We try to sell the best quality at the most competitive price so we can reach every household. Since we produce the product in our own factory, we are not worried about quality, and because we are not worried, we want every household to use it and once they do, every family member should come to Dr. Mars and purchase. We don't pursue profit margins; we try to sell the highest quality at the lowest price."Advertisement
