Two New Beauty Technologies from L'Oréal Group HAPTA, the world's first handheld computerized makeup applicator designed for users with limited hand and arm mobility, and L'Oréal Brow Magic, the first smart eyebrow makeup applicator that provides eyebrow appearance customized to face shape in seconds; are meeting beauty enthusiasts as the latest examples reflecting L'Oréal Group's Techno-Beauty vision. L'Oréal Group won the Innovation Award at CES 2023 with two new technologies that facilitate access to beauty. The Group is introducing HAPTA, the first handheld, ultra-precise computerized makeup applicator designed to address the beauty needs of people with limited hand and arm mobility, and L'Oréal Brow Magic, the first at-home electronic eyebrow makeup applicator that provides users with personalized eyebrow appearances in seconds. L'Oréal Group CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said, "For us, the future of beauty is inclusive and we are making this future more accessible with the help of technology. The two new technologies we presented at CES this year reflect our company's core mission: Creating Beauty that Moves the World." Barbara Lavernos, President of L'Oréal Group Research, Innovation and Technology, said, "Inclusivity, innovation and Techno-Beauty are at the center of our strategy. We are committed to developing new technologies that meet the wishes, expectations and needs of every individual." HAPTA Approximately 50 million people worldwide live with limited motor skills. This makes some daily activities, such as applying makeup, more difficult. HAPTA, developed by scientists at L'Oréal Group, stands out as a handheld, ultra-precise smart makeup applicator for users with limited hand and arm mobility, offering users the ability to easily apply lipstick at home. Developed by healthcare technology company Verily, the technology enables individuals with limited hand and arm mobility to experience safe and independent use. HAPTA offers users an advanced range of motion, increased ease of use and customizable accessory combinations. Equipped with a magnetic attachment that enables easy ergonomic use with 360-degree rotation and 180-degree flexibility capabilities, the device allows users with a single click to intuitively adjust their intended position, remain in position during use, and lock into customized settings for future use. HAPTA features a battery that fully charges in three hours and a charger that provides one hour of continuous use, allowing for approximately 10 or more applications. HAPTA will first be implemented at Lancôme, one of L'Oréal Group's brands this year. L'Oréal Brow Magic Achieving the desired eyebrow appearance can require multiple products, considerable time and expertise. For precise results, expensive professional services such as microblading are needed. With L'Oréal Brow Magic, beauty enthusiasts can achieve personalized eyebrow appearance at home tailored to their natural brows and facial features. Developed by L'Oréal Group together with Prinker, a leading technology company in temporary tattoos, L'Oréal Brow Magic makes professional results accessible at home. Using technology with 2,400 micro nozzles and 1,200 droplet printing resolution and providing consumers with the most precise eyebrow shape in seconds, L'Oréal Brow Magic is the first handheld, lightweight, electronic eyebrow makeup applicator. With L'Oréal Group's ModiFace AR technology, L'Oréal Brow Magic scans the user's face and makes recommendations for micro coverage, micro shading or fill effects.
